Privacy Policy

The short version. InspectLab has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. It collects no personal data. Everything it shows you — page content, cookies, request bodies, console output — is read on your device, kept on your device, and never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Data we collect
None. We operate no server that receives data from the app, and the app contains no analytics, attribution, advertising or crash-reporting software. We cannot see which sites you visit, what you inspect, or that you have opened the app at all.
Data the app stores on your device
InspectLab is a web browser and a debugging tool, so it necessarily handles sensitive material. All of it stays in the app's own storage on your device, and iOS removes it when you delete the app.
- Website data. Cookies,
localStorage,sessionStorageand caches for the sites you visit, kept by iOS's web view exactly as any browser would. - Inspection data. Console messages, network requests (including headers and, where readable, bodies), DOM information and page source. This is held in memory for the current session, is bounded so it cannot grow without limit, and is discarded when you close the tab or the app.
- Your settings. Preferences such as your chosen search engine and the console and network limits.
- Whether Pro is active. A single yes/no flag, cached so a paying customer is not shown a paywall while StoreKit is still answering at launch. It is re-checked against Apple on every launch and contains nothing about you.
Because inspection data can contain credentials — authorization headers, session cookies, passwords typed into a form you are debugging — treat anything you copy or share out of the app with the same care you would treat the credentials themselves.
Network connections
The app connects to the sites you ask it to load, and to nothing else. Those requests go directly from your device to those sites; they do not pass through us. Your chosen search engine receives what you type when you enter a search rather than an address, and its own privacy policy applies to that.
InspectLab can load http:// addresses, localhost and local network
addresses, because a web development tool has to reach development servers. Those connections
are made only when you ask for them.
Purchases
InspectLab Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never receive or handle your card, bank or Apple Account details — there is no checkout on our side and no server of ours involved. We see only the aggregated sales and subscription reports Apple provides to every developer, which do not identify individual customers.
Whether you have Pro is determined on your device from the receipt Apple issues. The app asks Apple's StoreKit framework what you are entitled to; that check is between your device and Apple, and it stores nothing about you with us. Because there is no account, your purchase is tied to your Apple Account rather than to any identity we hold — which is also how it restores on a new device.
Managing, cancelling and requesting a refund for a subscription are all done through Apple, under Apple's privacy policy and the Apple Media Services Terms.
Apple's App Store
If you allow it, the app may occasionally ask you to rate it using Apple's standard rating prompt. That prompt is provided by iOS, and any rating or review you write goes to Apple, not to us — we receive only the aggregate statistics Apple shows every developer, which do not identify you. You can turn these prompts off in the app's Settings screen. Apple also collects its own App Store analytics under Apple's privacy policy, independently of us.
Third parties
The app bundles no third-party SDKs and shares data with no third parties, because it shares data with no one at all. The websites you visit are, of course, third parties whose own practices apply to your use of them.
Children
InspectLab is a developer tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Rights such as access, correction, deletion and portability apply to data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete. To remove everything the app has stored locally, delete the app; iOS deletes its data with it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Should a future version of the app ever collect anything, we will say so here clearly and in the app before it does — not quietly in a revision.
